The Downtown Forum meets monthly on the 4th Thursday at Village at the Harbour
Mark your calendar now and plan to attend!
Current Projects of the Downtown Forum
- Friday Harbor Parking – The Chamber is exploring parking with some key stakeholders. Please send your ideas, comments and suggestions to chamber@sanjuanisland.org for inclusion in these discussions.
- TGIFh – A great idea is forming to get visitors here on Friday night instead of them coming on Saturday morning. Each week during the tourist season and some in off season we could hold special events on Friday night so that everyone starts talking about having to be here on Friday’s! We do have a committee working on this as well and would love your participation.
- Fashion Show – Some have suggested holding a Fashion Show. This could include many businesses because more than clothes could be showcased. We could use jewelry, accessories to go with the outfits which could include sporting goods, hair and makeup for the models, decorations, food and location. We do have a committee forming on this one, so please let me know if you would like to be involved. Also if you have items we could use in the fashion show I will start gathering a list of participating businesses. We will set a target date in the Fall for this event.
- Summer Arts Fair - July 17 & 18 – It was suggested to organize a Gallery Walk on the Friday before this event, which would be July 16.
As you can see lots of ideas are being shared. I understand we are all busy but we are trying to give lots of options for your level of involvement. We want to make our downtown the best possible and increase the traffic into your businesses!
